嘗（かつ）て美しい建物を映じたであろう池は今はなく、池跡の平地で子供達がサッカーに興じ、牛等が草を食（はん）んでいました。平和な情景が続くかどうかは、地域コミュニティーが、周りのコミュニティーと共存出来る文化的環境の寛容で積極的な相互保全協力意欲であると思われます。
メラウリにある不思議の館Jahaz Mahal。Jahazはウルドゥー語で「船」、この「宮殿(Mahal)」が池に映る姿が「船」の様であったと言う事です。今ではその様な綺麗な池はありません。15世紀後半から16世紀前半に建築されたとすれば、時恰もムガル帝国勃興前夜。貴族の夏の館であったとも、モスク或いは巡礼者の宿、後宮であったとも言われていますが、残念な事に決定的な事はわかりません。

Near the congested Mehrauli Bazar in West Delhi, mysterious Jahaz Mahal has been existent. Jahaz means “ship” in Urdu. According to a description, the image of Mahal, a palace, was reflected on the pond’s surface like ship. Now there is no such clear pond surrounding this palace. As per the assumption of construction period from the end of the 15th century to the beginning of the 16th century, it was just a while before the advent of the Mughal Empire. Divided views on the purposes of this building are coexisting, such as it was designated as the summer retreat, mosque, inn for the pilgrims, harem. The details are not even faintly substantiated yet.

. In der Mitte des überlasteten Mehrauli-Bazars in West-Delhi hat geheimnisvolle Jahaz-Mahal existent gewesen. Jahaz bedeutet “Schiff” in Urdu. Laut einer Beschreibung wurde das Bild von Mahal, ein Palast, auf der Teichoberfläche wie Schiff zurückgestrahlt. Jetzt gibt es keinen so klaren Teich rund um dieses Palastes. Gemäß der Bauzeitannahme vom Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts bis Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts war es nur eine Weile vor dem Aufkommen des Moghul-Reiches. Geteilte Ansichten über die Zwecke dieser Gebäude sind nebeneinander da, wie es als die Sommerfrische, Moschee, Pension für die Pilger, Harem, bezeichnet ist. Die Details sind noch schwach belegt.
